Why Is LinkedIn Good for B2B?
While it’s an important social media platform for all businesses, LinkedIn is a game changer for B2B. Yes, a game changer! Think about the possibilities you have when you’re connecting and communicating via LinkedIn. You have access to mentors, you have the ability to conduct market research AND the ability to connect with people on a personal level.
1. LinkedIn is even more important to B2B marketers than Facebook.
Want your content to be seen? Marketers (like me!) are suggesting content shared across LinkedIn is essential when it comes to your social strategy. As a B2B marketer, I’m among the 94% who use LinkedIn to distribute content The study also revealed that marketers cited LinkedIn as being the most effective channel for content distribution, ranking ahead of Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Sharing your content on LinkedIn gets it in front of your current connections and followers
2. Decision Makers are on LinkedIn
The use of LinkedIn as a valuable business tool shows no signs of slowing down. According to Social Media Today, 74% of B2B decision makers use LinkedIn to help make purchasing decisions.
LinkedIn provides premium search filters that allow you to find and filter prospects based on industry, relationship (i.e. 1st degree connections), company and industry. A decision maker is someone I want to connect with, don’t you?
3. Don’t be traditional when you’re rolling out a new product or service.
Traditional press releases are a thing of the past! While they are still the staple, why not be innovative and utilize social media to distribute news and information? According to polling done by Regalix as of last March, LinkedIn is the #1 platform used for product launches among B2B businesses.
The stats don’t lie: 81% of B2B businesses say they use LinkedIn for product launches, compared to 71% who use Twitter & only 54% who use Facebook.
