They say that content is king; but distribution is queen. It wasn't until I started a podcast in January that I released how powerful they can be. If your podcast is done with intention and planning then you're on the right track.
A peer of mine suggested that when you're trying to appeal to other business owners or you have a specific target customer in mind, you can get lost in trying to think of ways to get them to buy. It's true. There are so many ways to connect and reach people via digital marketing.
1. Pull back the curtains. You would normally add behind-the-scenes stuff to a playlist on a YouTube channel or create a montage of the inner workings of your business to post on Facebook. A podcast with this content plus valuable information about who you are and what you're about. According to Pew Research, 44% of the U.S. population has listened to podcasts.
2. Build authority. Once you've got your podcast, make sure you're posting new episode content on your website, this will give you more authority in the long term.
3. Sprinkle nuggets of info. This will give you a consistency when it comes to content and then you can sprinkle in additional nuggets of information on your social channels.
